COEVOLVERS scholars visit 1: Juha Hiedanpää's guest lecture on bioeconomy
Between 16–22 October, Prof. Juha Hiedanpää from the Finnish institute LUKE was visiting professor at the SlovakGlobe – Institute of Forest Ecology, Slovak Academy of Sciences and Institute of Management, Slovak University of Technology.
LUKE is a research organization that builds sustainable future and well-being from renewable natural resources. A hybrid visiting lecture took part on October 19th, targeting at Strategic biodiversity policy and research – the quest for effective and fair NBS.
The goal was to introduce to approx. 90 Bachelor and Master students of Department of Economics and Building Management importance of biodiversity and nature-based solutions at firm level. In his lecture, the professor addressed the anthropocentric approach and globalization, which concerns the entire society. The lecture was closely connected with the international project COEVOLVERS, which focuses on using the potential of measures close to nature to reduce the vulnerability of local communities to climate change.
